DVS Skateboard Demo

Skatetronics.com covered its first event April 18, 2009 at Pedlow Park in Encino, Ca. The DVS shoes team came out and rocked it. They gave all the kids free stuff and everyone had a good time. Thanks to Gabe and Jeron and a very special thanks to Ryan Newman from Zeke and Luther. And a super thanks to DJ Gimel for lacing the air with beats.

The Hard Rock Cafe opened its Hollywood Blvd. location last night October 21, 2010 to a packed house of music lovers. Located at the Hollywood & Highland Center, beside the world-famous Kodak Theater, connected at the hip to Grauman’s Chinese Theater. The former site of the Virgin Mega store that wasn't able to keep the customers coming in.

This was an all around cool event with lots of free food, plenty to drink and loads of hottness all over the joint. Hosted by latin superman George Lopez and D J'd by DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill made this private invite worth the trip to Hollywood.

Skatetronics.com Hard Rock Cafe- Hollywood Cgrand OpeningThe live entertainment started off with with DJ Muggs taking us through a journey of the 1990's, 1980's and 1970's rap and rock music From Jay Z to Queen and the crowd loved the ride.

After thirty minutes of DJ Muggs spinning George Lopez introduced Orianthi Panagaris who goes by simply Orianthi. The Australian singer songwriter was the last guitarist for Popular music legend superstar Michael Jackson and can be seen in "This Is It" the film that documents the last months of MJ's life during the rehearsals for his tour. If her coming success can be judge by the crowds response she is sure to make a big name for herself.

Robin Thicke Skatetronics.com Hard Rock Cafe- Hollywood Cgrand OpeningThe headliner for the evening was the soulful lady-killer Robin Thicke. His full band set up with a horn section only solidifies how power Robin's presence is on stage. His 45 minute or so set had everyones attention, especially the women who crowed the stage. His energy was up, his approach was direct and the audience was hooked. My favorite moment was near the end of his set when he performed his rendition of soul legend Al Green's "Let's Stay Together". The crowd showed their full approval as well. Backstage his father, 80's TV star Alan Thicke told his son how great the show was. The first time I met Robin was in the early 90's when he came to my home to pick up his high school friends. He pulled up to the drive-way in his Dad's huge Winnebago. I asked him about that and he responded, back then he and his friends used to rock that thing everywhere. Cool kid Robin.

With all that said I would say, I get no rise out of seeing another business open with the offer of only service jobs. I am sure the employment index will count this as as growth for the job market. It is not. Service jobs only ensure more people are working but can not have a standard of living just above the working poor if that at all.

I do think the United States government need to force the banking industry to either provide fair termed loans to the people (not corporations) who will start businesses of manufacturing products that can get the US back on its feet, or kick those financial institutions out. Service jobs do not recover a countries economy. Manufacturing does.
